Born and raised in Los Angeles, Simon grew up with an innate talent for construction. After being mentored for several years by seasoned construction professionals, Simon worked his way up the ranks at Zember Construction, where he managed a wide range of commercial and residential projects. In 1983, he continued his passion for development as an independent contractor focusing on residential and commercial construction. Highlights of Simon’s successful career include building commercial grocery chains, medical offices and other commercial buildings from the ground-up, as well as numerous custom homes and high-end residential additions. In 2003, Simon’s knowledge and expertise in building united with the increasing popularity of cementitious coatings and epoxies, and he was recruited as Vice President of a premier floor coatings manufacturer. A leader in the field, Simon helped direct the company to increasing success before returning to his passion for independent contracting–this time with his partner and wife-to-be, marketing entrepreneur Denise Chavez.
